Our company was founded in 1954 in Chuo-ku, Sapporo and incorporated in 1961 as Mitaka Shoji Co. Our first president, Umesu Ikuno, boldly took on the business with a wealth of ideas and a challenging spirit. 1969 saw the construction and sale of four condominiums in Sapporo, including Japan’s first condominium financed by the Japan Housing Loan Corporation (JHF) as a private real estate company.
Satoshi Hirota, the third president, joined Mitaka Shoji in 1982 after working for Sanwa Bank for 13 years. He has served as president for 34 years since 1985, valuing people-to-people ties, putting customers first, and striving to be a real estate company that serves society. 2008, he was appointed chairman of the Hokkaido Real Estate Agents Association.
I moved to the U.S. in 2003 and returned to Japan in 2006 to join Mitaka Shoji. i have served as President since November 2018. i received my CPM®︎ (Certified Property Manager) certification in 2020 and my CCIM (Certified Real Estate Investment Advisor) certification in 2021. in November 2023. In November 2023, we changed our company name from Mitaka Shoji to Stardust Japan K.K. and moved to Kita 4-jo Building. We are doing business not only with Japanese customers but also with customers all over the world. All of us at Stardust Japan are united in our daily endeavors based on the fundamental value of “doing our best for our customers,” which we have upheld since the company’s founding.
